Young Texas Artists Music Competition Features Bach, Beethoven, and Barbeque

This spring, get lost in the sounds of Bach and Beethoven—the 31st Annual Young Texas Music Competition is here to delight your ears and revitalize your spirit!

The 31st Annual Young Texas Artists Music Competition encourages excellence in young musicians and is dedicated to further artist growth throughout Texas. The classical competition features prominent musicians, young finalists aged 18–21, from all over the world. Internationally acclaimed judges will listen as the talented candidates battle it out at the historic, beautifully restored Crighton Theatre, known for its nostalgic ambiance and extraordinary acoustics. The rising stars will also be competing for the Audience Choice Award.

The classical music event is the official music competition of the state of Texas. It was created by the Montgomery County Performing Arts Society in 1983 and has become a highly anticipated yearly concert. Categories of the competition include piano, voice, strings and winds, brass, percussion, harp, and guitar.

Guests can enjoy a delicious dinner of brisket and barbecue prior to the competition. After the concert, guests are treated to more entertainment and after-party excitement.

The annual celebration is sponsored by many local organizations, including Streater-Smith Honda Nissan, Amegy Bank, Buckalew Chevrolet, Carabba’s, DWC Photography, Gullo Toyota, and many more.

The competition takes place on Saturday, March 14th. The barbeque begins at 5:15 PM and the concert at 7:30 PM at the Crighton Theatre in Conroe. Tickets are on sale now!
